block specific sites extension on firefox?
duus | Mar 6 2006
Hello. i'd like an extension that does the following: I have some folder of bookmarks, and my firefox refuses to go to those sites, OR (even better) I can specify times of the day that it will refuse to go to those sites. I figure, atrios, boingboing, and chromewaves are going to get along just fine without me, but dissertation will not. You know what I mean? Has anyone heard of such a thing? Or has a suggestion for an alternative (barring the obvious "have more self-discipline.") 5 Comments

I'm not aware of extensions which block sites selectively. But there is a nifty little freeware called "Temptation Blocker" which allows you to block whole pieces of software for a specified time (e.g. FF, Minesweeper, or whatever). If you desperately need access to the software during this time you'll have to type in a random 32-character string. I'd give the url but it's very long. Just google for "temptation blocker" and it's the first result. » POSTED IN:
