Hello

Hello! I feel underrepresented...as a Pocket PC user who spends three hours each day on a train, I can't use Outlook plugins, web apps, or Windows or OS X apps, or grep. Or even Palm apps. Is there a resource I've missed, discussing GTD on Pocket PC or even on bare Outlook? (I actually use Pocket Informant.) I will say the Outlook category system is very flexible - I've been using it for context lists for years (all my tasks appear in multiple contexts). (Of course, the real problem is not so much managing the to-do lists, as actually doing the things on the lists. As opposed to reading websites about doing the things on your lists. I'm OK now, though, because asking the question above is actually on one of my lists.) 2 Comments

Seriously though you said that outlook had a good system of catagorizing but I have not found it. When I try to put tasks on there I cant figure out a way to filter my view to only show the current context I am in. Any help you can give me would be appreciated. I assume you mean Pocket Outlook. I use Pocket Informant, which is a much better client for the Pocket Outlook databases. But, if you're in the native Tasks application, there's a drop-down at the top left that does very simple filtering (it probably says All Tasks now). You can pick a single category off the list. If you meant desktop Outlook, the easiest way to flip between contexts is to group by categories. There's a predefined By Category view; collapse all (off the View menu) and expand the category you want to see. Or, possibly, you have different versions than I do. But I'm pretty sure Tasks hasn't changed much. » POSTED IN:
