Tips for after a long absence
Laura M. | Nov 16 2005
I was on sick leave for about a week and now that I come back to the office, you can imagine the huge backlog I have of unfinished tasks. I suspect my colleagues where just waiting for me to appear sooner or later. My revenge will be merciless. In the meantime, do you have any tips I could use to get up to date on my tasks? 2 Comments

Yeah, I guess it would be good because, to be frank, I can't remember very well all of my pending things. Problem is, when you go on holiday or travel, you know what to expect, you can finish the urgent tasks, inform people or delegate things. When you go on sick leave it's so unexpected. I'm not very good at handling change. :) I guess that's why I like methodological approaches. On the other hand, is funny to realize that there was not such an urgent task that had to be dealt by my colleagues. Everything just waited for me to come back. It's good to know because it does changes the perception of urgency of things. In any case, I told people that today wouldn't count because I was just going to check on my email. So, now that I'm about to finish my working day, I can do a weekly review for what needs to be done for the rest of the week. Thanks for the tip and for the good wishes. I do feel much better, thanks. Lucky of those that work on their own and don't have to share office germs. :) » POSTED IN:
