I use Parallels on my MacBook just to run Outlook (don't try it with less than 2GB RAM). I tried David Allen's GTD Add-in for about a year, before having to re-install a corrupt Windows. Pressed for time and unable to locate the add-in installer, I purchased his PDF on configuring outlook (I was leaving for a trip). I have found it much, much better than the add-in! Outlook runs faster without the add-in. There are less buttons to clutter your space and all the functionality of the add-in is still there. Highly recommended. The tips on organizing Outlook are great. For searching email, I use Google's Desktop Search set to search Outlook Mail, Contacts, and Appointments and EVERYTHING else turned off. This uses considerably less resources that full-flegded Google Desktop install, and the mail search is awesome! I just installed SpeedFiler, and am loving it! (My mail folder structure is like my filing cabinet: A-Z with subfolders for all topics). » POSTED IN:
