getting started with remind
jennifer chuong | Nov 14 2007
hi! I've been curious about Remind for a long time after reading Mike Harris' introduction, but only just got around to trying to install/use it. I've never done anything in Terminal (like several other people who left comments to the original post), but after a lot of fiddling around I managed to install the program and set up a .reminders file. Problem is, I can't seem to actually figure out how to call up any of the reminders. "rem" or "remind" (and variants of) are "command[s] not found." I know so little that I'm not even sure what information I need to give to get help, but if anyone has a sense of where a newbie would likely go wrong, or could offer any pointers, I would really appreciate it! Thanks! Jennifer 6 Comments

Thanks for the feedback, Owen...I tried editing that file (which had nothing in it - can that be right?) but it doesn't seem to have changed anything. The really curious thing is that this: !/bin/bash/usr/local/bin/remind -o ~/.reminders in Geektool does produce output! So I guess it may not really be a problem, as long as I'm getting the reminders to display somewhere, but it's kind of bizarre. » POSTED IN:
