Replacements for Sciral Consistency
Chris Metcalf | Oct 16 2007
I really like the concept and implementation of Sciral Consistency, but I'm not about to pay $25 for a piece of software that hasn't been updated since 2005. Heck, its still a PowerPC-only binary. It seems to me like it's a dead app, and I'm concerned that I'll never see any updates. So what do people suggest as an alternative? I've been hacking away at a Ruby on Rails clone of it, but I haven't made as much progress as I'd like to. 3 Comments

Sciral Consistency is Alive and WellSubmitted by Robert McNally on October 23, 2007 - 12:22am.
Hi! I am the author of Sciral Consistency, and wanted to state for the record that the software is alive and well: both the Mac and Windows versions are fully supported and run fine on all current OS versions. In fact, minor revisions for both platforms will be appearing in a few days, and the new Mac version will be Universal Binary. Unfortunately, Sciral Consistency does not have a large enough market to justify the time necessary to aggressively add features. If you want to help change that, feel free to become a customer and encourage others to do likewise! ;) Robert » POSTED IN:
