Google Docs new user

I am a total newbie to Google Docs. I have it open in my web browser but I do not see where I can import documents.

Can anyone throw me a clue to get started?

Thanks in advance for any help with this!

If you're trying to get Word documents, text files, or other data from your hard drive into Gdox, just click the "Upload" button (second from the left in the toolbar).
