Why are some seemingly basic features missing from note-taking, task-tracking apps?

Anyone have comments on the following? Are the issues philosophical, technical, style-related, other ... ? 1 - Why don't most (all?) task-management apps allow for multi-level sorting of tasks? For example, sort active tasks to the top, then sub-sort flagged tasks to the top of active tasks, then sub sort by due date - or some such scenario. I see iGTD can do this. I'm not sure about OmniFocus. Most other task-management apps don't seem able to do this. 2 - Why do so few notes/clippings managers include outlining capabilities? For example, DevonThink vs Circus Ponies NoteBook. 3 - How is a private Wiki useful for notes/clippings management? Wiki's seem great for developing collaborative knowledge repositories, and perhaps even for drafting documents. But using a Wiki for private notes/clippings management just seems to require way too much manual fussing about with entries. Thanks much! 2 Comments
