How do you describe Quicksilver?
Merlin Mann | Sep 30 2007
Acting without doing SOUNDS good, but... (Ask MetaFilter) I really liked this AskMe question about Quicksilver, since it's one that comes up a lot for folks who don't get as enthused about the app as I (and many of you) do:
Here's a portion of how I responded in comments:
I'll admit that it always makes me realize what a fanboy I am whenever I try to explain Quicksilver, but, truthfully, it is kind of challenging. How do you describe Quicksilver to folks who don’t get all the fuss? How do you relate the sexiness? 52 Comments

I don’t like QuickSilver. Whenever I put a file someplace, it’s anyone’s guess as to how long I’ll have to wait before QuickSilver figures out I put it there. Spotlight can pick it up right away. Example: I install a program, want to run it five minutes later. QuickSilver can’t do it, Spotlight can. actually, on that example, if you just dragged an application to Application folder, Quicksilver will automatically recognize that change. and for other types of files, you can always just hit Apple+R to refresh the catalog. Plus.. quicksilver isn't about finding things anyway.. it's about doing things that you found. » POSTED IN:
