hit up strand books (either union square, or south street) go to south street seaport go to queen of sheba for amazing ethiopian food (i think 46th and 9th) walk around st. marks get dumpling man from st. marks, then go across the street and get hummus from the hummus place IFC center for good indie films (west 4th) hit up 7th ave ('Java' is a good mom-and-pop indonesian restaurant) and there is always union hall for beers and bocce ball.

or you could come to brooklyn and help me pack for italy.. i leave in an hour!
