N80, E70, and N70 lack...Submitted by emory on March 27, 2007 - 11:46am.
N80, E70, and N70 lack an auto-focus lens. You can see some of my E70 shots on my flickr stream, the E70 is 2MP but without an AF it isn't as nice as the N73 by a long shot, and not just because of that extra 1M pixels. the E70's WiFi and keyboard are nice. The N95 is coming soon. That will be around $800 out the door I think, but is an amazing device. Everyone loves it. I'll probably lean towards the E90, but the N95 will be a very hot device, I just don't like typing emails in Tegic/T9 :) If you don't do a lot of mobile email, and are more interested in /reading/ email, then you can pretty much stick to anything. And Google's gmail client for S60 is awesome. Actually, I think it may be just the vanilla j2me client -- I don't even know what version I have installed cuz I don't use gmail much except for testing things but it looks beautiful. As much as I love the E70, it has buggy firmware. Current FW on the E70s are still 2.x, which is Nokia-speak for "not production", in spite of being widely available. I have an E70-1, the E70-2 is the US version, and has a black keyboard. You can get them retail at the Nokia store in Chicago (I was just there and saw it ;)) unlocked/unbranded. They also have the N93i now. Sweet moses that's a cool handset, though more geared towards mobile video capture (30fps 640x480 MPEG4 video with a nice lens) than anything else. I'd recommend that you look closer at the N73. I love mine to death, and I'd carry it every day if I wasn't such a heavy messenger. » POSTED IN:
