Ordered a Nokia 770 tablet

Watch this space I guess for a review once it comes. I'm really interested in this device because one of the reasons I refuse to use Tracks or Backpack as the centerpiece of my GTD is because it isn't usable on a mobile browser. As the 770 has Opera and should be able to handle Ajaxy-fancy-pants bits, that problem may go away. I just refuse to carry a laptop everywhere to solve this problem. Also, it will be able to use my mobile phone's internet connection to use the big browser/IM client/email so that I am not constantly fondling my N90 like some sort of perv. The 770 isn't a PDA. Its a tiny X11/Linux device with WiFi and Bluetooth. I'm eager to see if it will fill any gaps for me. 6 Comments

Yup, you can use the Backpack mobile function by putting /mob after your URL too. Opera Mini is quite good, but the version of Opera on the 770 is an honest-to-God version of it. Not mobile. Not mini. Its Opera. There are also builds of Minimo (Firefox/Mozilla for small screens) that will work on the 770. The 770 isn't a mobile phone, and it isn't a PDA. It is more like a web surf-board with IM and other connectivity options. It should end up being a lot of fun, but we'll see. I think it will get in tomorrow or Thursday.
