Google Calendar: Slick, but does it sync?
macfixer | Apr 13 2006
Okay, I'm looking around and trying to figure out if I can get Google Calendar to sync with anything on my Mac. I see that I can import stuff, but that's kind of a bear. I also see that I can share my Google Calendar stuff, but that's not really letting me sync if it's read-only. Anyone  //k 7 Comments

Google Calendar is a total...Submitted by Berko on April 17, 2006 - 11:31am.

Even Yahoo! has a way to sync info with their server (although it isn't Mac friendly at the moment). Quote: phpicalendar...requires you to use something like Sunbird or iCal to manage webcal events -- phpicalendar only lets you VIEW and DISTRIBUTE calendars via webcal or RSS. I have been working on a new website for my church, and we have been having great luck with WP-iCal plugin for Wordpress. Basically, it takes posts from a certain category and creates an iCal calendar out of it that is subscribable. I simply set the plugin to publish to the calendars directory for my PHPiCalendar installation and Bob's your uncle. I am currently testing a new version that supports multiple calendars as well. Garrick has been a huge help in supporting this plugin and it has saved me so much work. I can't say enough good things about him and his plugin. If you are using Drupal, you can use the Event module. This creates calendars and makes them viewable on site without PHPiCalendar installation. I know this is a bit OT, but I happened to have some experience and thought it might be helpful to someone out there. EDIT: Misspelled Garrick's last name, didn't put links to him and his plugin, and didn't explain that WP-iCal is for Wordpress in case someone didn't know.
