This is the same thing as GTD. ISO9001 is a standard, Kaizen is a business pratice, and GTD is a personal practice. If you look at the steps in ISO9001 and the steps in GTD they are the same. Capture or Identify, process or process, weekly review or audit. It's the same thing. Where did you think David Allen got the Idea? Welllll not quite. ISO9001 is a standardised method for developing and improving processes. GTD in comparison is an out of the box (or book) process. By following a more ISO approach it would be possible to improve and replace processes over time, and even ignore areas that don't seem important or are too large to comfortably take on board to begin with. With GTD, when things start going wrong it's generally assumed that you aren't following the GTD process correctly, and if you do have a huge marginal task, it should be put through the GTD process possibly at the expense of the issues that could really make a difference in life. That's quite a dramatic difference. Can I clarify? Um... To my mind it's better to begin with tackling a few important issues in a structured way rather than attempt to tackle all issues in a prescriptive way. » POSTED IN:
