Code Friendly Search Engine?
Jamie Phelps | Jun 22 2006
I think this qualifies as a tool. I am looking for a search engine that is code friendly. When I am working on web coding, I would like to be able to search the web for code when I have problems. This would be especially useful when working with CMS or blogging systems such as Drupal, Wordpress, etc. When I search Google (even with quotes), my code characters such as (), {}, and other such are stripped from the search string. Is there a search engine that will work more simply in such situations? I'm surprised Google hasn't managed this. I could imagine Google making it more tolerant of spaces and such, but at this point I just want to be able to search for code snippets. 1 Comment

I'm not a programmer by any stretch of the imagination but I remember several discussions on slashdot about this sort of thing and this is what I dug up: http://browsebyquery.sourceforge.net/: For Java only I believe. http://csourcesearch.net/: C/C++ If these aren't what you're looking for then here is the search I did to find the above. :) » POSTED IN:
