OneNote vs Evernote
michaelramm | Jun 8 2006
I have downloaded the ON 2007 beta and it looks nice. I have never used a note-taking app like that before and I was to add it into my system. What is the difference between ON and Evernote? I am not very familiar with either, but I have heard that they are the best note-taking apps out there. Thanks, 3 Comments

I'm not sure about ON 2007, but I gave up on ON 2003. It was typical Microsoft all the way: beta quality demonstration software in production release disguise. Perhaps I expected more out of it than it was designed for. Evernote is pretty good, and their web clipper will literally clip anything you can throw at it. One Note's web clipper is essentially useless (at least in 03; not sure about 07). I downloaded the Office 07 beta and it bogged my laptop down very bad. I uninstalled it and it caused me several problems and crippled my underlying Office 03 install. The good part is, it got me motivated to try to switch to Linux. I loaded SuSE 10.1 on an old laptop, and once I get the wireless figured out (Linux doesn't do wirless very well and manufacturers don't write Linux drivers) then I can move on to figuring out how to switch my main laptop over to it. Evernote will run in Linux, by the way. Instructions are provided in their support forum. I've been using Google Notebook lately. » POSTED IN:
