The Boeing Warehouse Store

http://www.boeing.com/assocproducts/surplus/retail/index.html No, I don't work for Boeing and have nothing to gain from posting about this. Lots of good deals on office furniture, tools, etc. are to be had here. No airplane parts, sorry. :) So if you live in that area... (I've been meaning to post this for a while, but now that the board is giving me the "it appears that you have not posted..." message, I thought now would be a good time.) 7 Comments

I haven't been there in...Submitted by purplepeople on April 17, 2006 - 11:23am.
I haven't been there in about 10 years, but I'm pretty sure they still have assorted airplane parts. Back when I still had time to building recumbent bikes for a hobby, I used to go there quite a bit and I can say that they had all sorts of airplane parts. You just wouldn't want to use any of them in an airplane you might fly in. If the everyday shoppers didn't beat you to it, you could get carbon fiber, kevlar fabric, odd pieces of titanium and exotic stainless steel, high speed diamond drill bits, huge chunks of plastic, rolls of cable... all for pennies on the dollar. I remember that for about $20K, they had an fully assembled 707 front landing gear that had been rendered useless because the metals didn't pass some weird test. I'm pretty sure it's still there just to marvel at, unless it happened to be the landing gear that showed up in that movie Lord of War (which isn't really unusual for Hollywood!). :)ensen. » POSTED IN:
