Cheap(er) pens like Cross Ion?
mcnicks | Apr 10 2006
I bought a Cross Ion pen after reading some recommendations and I am very impressed with it. To be honest, I have never really paid attention to pens in the past - I have just used whatever was lying around - but now I am convinced that I could be doing with a supply of decent pens around. Ideally what I would like is a pen (or set of pens) that is more of a standard shape than the Cross Ion, a bit cheaper, that writes exactly the same. I am left-handed and the fact that the ink from the Ion writes clear, smoothly and dries quickly is critical. Actually I would buy a few more Cross Ions but I know that, while my Ion is great for casual notes, its form factor would bother me when I was writing more extensively. Thx, 6 Comments

I'm a lefty and have had a terrible time finding a gel-ink pen that didn't smear every time I tried to write. Then I found the Uniball Jetstream. The ink dries very quickly, I never have a problem with smearing. The other thing about this pen is that it is so smooth, the first time I tried it I thought it may be too slick. But that didn't last long. Now I have trouble using anything but a Jetstream. They've spoiled me. Can't go wrong for about $3 pop. » POSTED IN:
