paper weight?
Carla Hufstedler | Apr 5 2006
My only real problem with my Moleskine is that certain pens will show through--not technically bleed through, but definitely show. My experience has been that Sharpies will actually bleed through to the opposite side. So my question is this: what weight grade does paper have to be in order for this problem to be solved? 20 Comments

I think it depends a lot upon the type of ink you are using. Ball point ink is a gel and will not bleed through, it just sits on top of the paper. Rollerball and fountain pen ink are water based and will soak into the paper to some extent. Some ink/paper combinations are better than others. I usually use fountain pens with Noodler's black ink. Noodler's black was designed not to feather even on newsprint, so it works pretty well on most paper, but it's a bit slow to dry. For notebooks, I like Red and Black as well as Clairfontaine notebooks. I'm not a big fan of the Moleskeins. Aaron » POSTED IN:
