The Hipskine, bringing LoFi and Tech together

I am not sure where to put this. John West has brought together the HiFi and LoFi worlds in his GTD implementation in his creation of the Hipskine.

GTD + Tracks + Moleskine = Hipskine

I have read over the article a couple of times and have decided to try to implement this in my GTD lifestyle. I have been using Tracks for about a week and loving it!! I carry 3x5 cards for notes and such (I am a Network Administrator in a 1-man IT department...so I get a lot of "Hey, while your here, could you look at X?")

I just have to find a Moleskine 2006 Pocket Daily Planner since the Official USA site is sold out and your only option is to be notified when the 2007 planners come out, and there is no place in Alabama that sells Moleskine. :(

I understand that it is not a revolution in thinking in bringing these two things together, but it is an innovation that I think will work for me.

Sorry to sound like an...

Sorry to sound like an idiot, but what's Tracks? I'm guessing it's some sort of project management software, something of a PIM or a calendar or to-do manager.

I kind of gave up on using software to manage my calendar and to-dos a long time ago. I had a Handspring Visor Edge, but it broke (I sat on it and busted the screen) and I got a Palm to replace it, but it neve really suited me. So I've gone back to lo-fi.

If I ever get a laptop (some bright day when I can afford a MacBook Pro and Intel-friendly design apps) I may start using iCal to manage my calendar stuff and something like KinklessGTD, but I don't know. There's something really satisfying about putting a pen to paper and making marks on it. :)

I've thought about managing text files of contextual items and things like that, but since I don't want to keep much personal stuff on my work computer and don't really use my home computer much, I don't. Plus there's the whole pen and paper lofi thing.

I'm not really sure what my point was, but there you go. I like lofi, but i like high tech--if it works and fits what I do.
