What Do You Carry With You?

The "ideal bag for a mobile life style" raises the question, what tools do you carry with you?

It varies by what tools are necessary for you to do whatever it is you do, of course, but I think it's an interesting question.

I have two bags -- one small purse and the bag that carries my laptop. My purse can go in the laptop bag, or if I don't take my laptop, go alone. I'm going to list what I always carry with me after I do an inventory.

Anybody else?

Like the two Steves I cycle to work and try to keep the amount of stuff I carry to a minimum.

I gave up on pannier bags on the bike as they hold too much and I became tempted to fill them up! A lap top is amazingly heavy to carry for any length of time - try carryin one through the airport when you're late!

I use a trail runners bag (Blackwolf), it has a wide strap and padded back so I can clip it around my waist when riding. In the outside pockets I carry bike multi-tool, bike levers, spare tubes, lock and wind shell. In the inside I have a credit card sized wallet, PocketPC, mobile, chapstick, memory stick, mechanical pencil, business cards - great for short notes and lunch.

Cranking

This is an essay about family, priorities, and Shakey’s Pizza, and it’s probably the best thing he’s written. »
