What Do You Carry With You?

The "ideal bag for a mobile life style" raises the question, what tools do you carry with you?

It varies by what tools are necessary for you to do whatever it is you do, of course, but I think it's an interesting question.

I have two bags -- one small purse and the bag that carries my laptop. My purse can go in the laptop bag, or if I don't take my laptop, go alone. I'm going to list what I always carry with me after I do an inventory.

Anybody else?

[="1"]o[/][="2"]o[/][="3"]o[/][="2"]o[/][="1"]o[/] I [del]spawned[/del] inspired a topic. Neat.

This is a perennial PITA issue for me. Here is what I carry with me.

  • Wallet (It's actually an ID insert that I took out of one of my bulkier wallets.
  • 60GB 5G Black iPod (in a RadTech microfibre sleeve)
  • Cell phone (SonyEricsson T637, for now)
  • Mead marble memo pad
  • Keys
  • At least two pens, usually three. Each a different color (red, blue, black)
  • Moleskine Ruled notebook, Pocket size
I almost always have my Powerbook Cyprian with me. Trusty steed. As I said on my other post, I also carry a lot of cables with me (A/C adapter and extension, retractable cables for iPod, cell phone, and Firewire, USB cable for Canon SD300) and I don't usually get to make it home very often during the day so I usually end up carrying some sort of snack like dried fruit, water, antibacterial lotion, hand creme, [del]small pharmacy[/del] a few doses of commonly used meds, project support materials in file folders, blank paper/legal pads, and a book or two that I am supposed to be reading for school. During any given day that I go to school, I usually end up being loaded up with handouts, photocopies, presentation outlines and other stuff related to school. Most of the things I just mentioned could almost go into my "Always with me" category because I am at school (in class or working) six days a week.

Cranking

Merlin used to crank. He’s not cranking any more.

This is an essay about family, priorities, and Shakey’s Pizza, and it’s probably the best thing he’s written. »

Scared Shitless

This is the video of Merlin’s keynote at Webstock 2011. The one where he cried. You should watch it. »
