Sometimes I just want to print what I am looking at on my monitor. Maybe a recipe, a sales ad to take to the store, documentation for a current project, etc. Ideally the Print Screen key would really print off what I am looking at. But nope. Here is my next best thing: I use Excel a lot so it is always running on my pc. I would like to know how others handle this task, is there an easier way? Tom 2 Comments

I usually just print to PDF. :) PDF is nice because it preserves the formatting of the original, and is grokked by most of the software for data/document management. I use OSX at the moment, so it's built into the printing system (File > Print > PDF). When I was using a PC at work, I had Adobe's Print-Driver thingy installed, which let me print from that. At home, I used the free softward alternative, which I preferred to the real thing. I can't remember the name of it, but it was distributed on the Windows programs section of the Ubuntu CDs. HTH; let me know if you want me to dig up that name. » POSTED IN:
