Real-world 'Mission Statements:' What's yours?

Okay, I officially admit it. I think personal Mission Statements are goofy. There, I said it. Danny O'Brien says geeks seek out situations that allow them to act like robots; my corollary is that business guys tend to embrace things that let them behave like corporations. Both are silly. One's funny and endearing. The other is kind of weird and creepy. (/$0.02) So. My challenge to you: give me your _real world_ Mission Statement. NOT based on pie-in-the-sky, best-of-breed, net-net, top-of-mind, uplevel thinking, etc. etc. For real -- if past is truly prologue and your actual behavior were turned into a retrospective statement of purpose, what would yours be? And no bullshitting. Here's mine: Quote:
I will waste unbelievable amounts of time on trivial obsessions, drink generous portions of low-priced spirits, and spend the better part of every day listening to indie rock and typing about "Productivity." I will alternate between periods of wanting to erradicate the "bad" parts of myself and realizing I can't and that I must learn to live with them and be happy I am self aware enough to see and strong enough to face it. My projects and open loops will be poorly defined and in varying states of written-down-ness, in response to the stark terror I feel when facing the volume of "stuff" coming at me. Seeing my son, Lucas, after a long day of whatever makes all the shit parts of life melt away. » POSTED IN:
