OK, fellow boarders, I need your best tips on finding the job. Not just a job, but that job that you'd stay at forever if they'd let you. I'll be in IT if that helps shape your recs. Basically, I want your tips and resources for finding the job and for negotiating demands. Book recommendations are good, but I'm also interested in your anecdotal resources both from the job seeker and employee seeker (nee hiring manager) POV. 4 Comments

I don't know if it's The Job but I did recently take an programming internship with a retail chain. It's a good step-up position and pays almost three times what I was making at my previous job. I would welcome any hints you all can give down the road, though. So, don't think this thread is off limits now that I am more gainfully employed. » POSTED IN:
