Apple advice?

My iMac died a quiet death recently. Any tips for finding good Apple deals? Buying direct seems outrageously expensive...I'll take used, not the latest and shiniest, etc. 4 Comments

My brother is an eBay ninja (he actually makes money on the side by buying things on eBay and then selling them there), and with his advice I have overseen the purchase of three Apple iBook G4's from there. (What can I say, once I got one all my friends wanted one). It's a gamble, it's far from a sure thing, but there are often shiny still-in-the-box Macs that are a model or two behind current that are more than usable. eBay ninja advice: search for mispellings. The Aple powerrbooks go for real cheap. PowerMax sometimes has good deals too. » POSTED IN:
