Mac Security Question
pooks | Mar 30 2006
Not fun "grabass" but I need a quick answer and don't know where else to ask.... I'm sending my PowerBook back to Mac and it will probably end up with a new hard drive. I've backed up, etc., etc. But I just remembered what I almost forgot -- I do shop online. I don't recall whether my credit card numbers or anything like that are stored on the Mac. Where do I look to see, so I can remove them? 17 Comments

It's important to know however, that a few people have had problems with Filevault and spotlight, if I remember correctly. I'd most likley enable File vault and frequently back up your critical files to a non-encrypted safe place (or a separate encryption standard), so that if filevault gets corrupted and goes down, you'll have a way to get back up with the critical files you need for work. BTW, Backups are smart anyways. ;) The pot calls the kettle black here... that reminds me, I need to check out rsync a lot harder again... I almost got it working lasttime.... Cheers!! » POSTED IN:
