Mac Security Question
pooks | Mar 30 2006
Not fun "grabass" but I need a quick answer and don't know where else to ask.... I'm sending my PowerBook back to Mac and it will probably end up with a new hard drive. I've backed up, etc., etc. But I just remembered what I almost forgot -- I do shop online. I don't recall whether my credit card numbers or anything like that are stored on the Mac. Where do I look to see, so I can remove them? 17 Comments

Make sure they're not stored...Submitted by Berko on March 30, 2006 - 7:42am.
Make sure they're not stored in your keychain and be sure to delete all your cookies from Safari, Firefox, or any other browser. If you use a program like Caboodle or Yojimbo to store your credit card info, get that data off there. Finally, make sure you clear your stored passwords and things especially to places like Amazon, Paypal, eBay, and your credit card online access. I'm sure more sophisticated types (I'm looking at you, Emory!) will be along soon to add anything I've left out. » POSTED IN:
