Dissatisfaction with OmniFocus?
mcogilvie | Aug 9 2007
I got back this week from three weeks in Europe away from my computer, and was eager to see how OmniFocus looked after three weeks using a minimal pen & paper gtd implementation. I was surprised to find out that I was not eager to go back to it. It seems overly complicated, and very databasey. Next action insertion in context view is buggy, so it is impossible to use in the simplest, most minimal gtd approach. I realize this is an alpha product, but it seems so clumsy compared to the excellent OmniOutliner and OmniGraffle. Are other people loving it? 4 Comments

Yeah, I was soooo looking forward to the app. And I've stopped beta-testing it. I can't take it; it just doesn't flow for me. I'm really surprised because OG's other apps (OmniWeb, OmniOutliner, etc), I find indispensable. But OmniFocus? I hate to say it, but Yuck. Bingo! The whole flow of the app is wrong for some reason. I don't know if it is just the alpha-quality of it, but it is not mind like water. I moved back to iGTD, with the UI that makes my eyes bleed, but at least I can make it work for me. I might give Task Paper a try when it is a little more polished (read:applescript support). » POSTED IN:
