Dissatisfaction with OmniFocus?
mcogilvie | Aug 9 2007
I got back this week from three weeks in Europe away from my computer, and was eager to see how OmniFocus looked after three weeks using a minimal pen & paper gtd implementation. I was surprised to find out that I was not eager to go back to it. It seems overly complicated, and very databasey. Next action insertion in context view is buggy, so it is impossible to use in the simplest, most minimal gtd approach. I realize this is an alpha product, but it seems so clumsy compared to the excellent OmniOutliner and OmniGraffle. Are other people loving it? 4 Comments

not satisfied, tooSubmitted by VolkerNawrath on August 12, 2007 - 10:47pm.
I'm not satisfied with the current development level of OmniFocus, too. In my opinion, the problem is, that a lot of beta testers, who don't know or understand GTD, suggest a lot of GTD unrelated features. Those people want a project management software and other full blown features, to get their tasks presented and processed 100%-automated. Therefore I don't follow the further development of OmniFocus and stay with my current solution (Entourage for private tasks, Outlook & MindManager for job tasks and my PDA for mobile combining boths worlds, not to forget my moleskine for fast input of new information and tasks). » POSTED IN:
