blogging software recommendation?
duus | Jul 6 2007
hey, I'm looking for blogging software. any suggestions? these are my specs: 1) mac-user. i use TextMate & Quicksilver & the command line and wouldn't mind it being compatible/take advantage of both/all. 2) would rather "compile" the blog locally and upload it (via rsync) than install stuff on my webhost (b/c i've never done that before and it seems like a headache. is this too much of a constraint?) thx. p.s. i used to use iBlog. never again! 6 Comments

I think the second restriction...Submitted by Berko on July 7, 2007 - 9:28am.
I think the second restriction is too much. As a middle ground, I would go with ecto or MarsEdit so you have a desktop client. Ecto can even use TextMate for editing. If you go this route, I would recommend Movable Type or Wordpress as they have really good support for XML-RPC amd some other platforms are seriously lacking in that area. Most webhosts (Dreamhost and Bluehost for sure) have one-click installs of Wordpress to help with the hassle bit. Hope this helps, » POSTED IN:
