DEVONthink and Firefox?

I'm checking out DEVONthink for the first time. One thing I'd like to do with it is to capture data from web pages -- text clippings or entire pages. It seems that the basic way to get stuff into DEVONthink is using the Services menu with its handy key commands for Take Plain Note and Take Rich Note. But these services don't work with Firefox, my browser of choice (because it's not Cocoa enough).

Is there an easy way to get info from Firefox into DEVONthink, or do I have to choose between abandoning Dt, switching browser, and using a more roundabout cut-and-paste way of capturing the information?

Cutting & Pasting into an...

Cutting & Pasting into an RTF document may be the best way to deal with a paragraph of data that you want to grab off a web page. I always grab the link as well in case I want to find the site again (or if I'm writing something up and need to provide the source). As to your question . . .

From the File menu, you can "Import Site". This is a bit misleading, as it is not going to crawl a whole site, but it will import the entire web page into the database (including EVERYTHING it needs to display the page offline). Disclaimer: I use the Pro Office version of Think, so this feature might not be in other versions of Think.

What you may actually be after is being able to index the contents of web page without downloading the whole thing. DEVON has the product called Agent that integrates well with Think, and it does exactly what I just described (and a whole lot more!).

This is an essay about family, priorities, and Shakey’s Pizza, and it’s probably the best thing he’s written. »
