Distractions
7by12 | Jan 15 2007
Ok, so I'm new. New to Macs. New to GTD. New to 43 folders. New to Macbreak. New. I have really loved all the anti-distraction videos and posts. I've got Quicksilver now, and Menu shade, and have a pure black desktop. My dock is hidden. Between being a stay-at-home Dad, Alzheimer's caregiver and online student, I need to do eveything I can to limit distractions. I've long been a fan of control-tab, now command-tab. I want to find a way to hide apps I don't need from the dock or finder bezel (ie. hardware growler, menuShade) . I haven't found any way to do this. Any ideas? 3 Comments

As far as the cmd-tab...Submitted by Craig on January 16, 2007 - 8:33am.
As far as the cmd-tab bezel goes, I use Liteswitch X which allows me to specify applications I don't want to appear in the bezel. (I use it to hide the Finder because I use PathFinder, and to hide Quicksilver because I invoke that with a keypress instead of switching to it.) As far as the dock goes, well, I just auto-hide the whole thing! » POSTED IN:
