batch convert rtf, doc to txt

hi:

I was wondering if there is any utility to convert all my rtf and doc files to plain text .

I found rtf2txt for the command line but dont know how to do batch conversions to the hd.

Are all of the files...

Are all of the files gathered into a central directory? If so, assuming a directory foo in your documents folder

for i in 'mdfind -onlyin ~/Documents/foo .rtf'
do
textutil -convert txt i
done
for i in 'mdfind -onlyin ~/Documents/foo .doc'
do
textutil -convert txt i
done

This should work for you.
