New to Mac

Would appreciate any suggestions on making the transition from PC. Links, helpful books, etc. I have worked in the IT industry for 25 years so I am not a beginner but I know I will have a lot to learn and get used to. Any links to info or recommendations would help... links, books, software you find a MUST have, etc. For one thing, I would like to convert an Excel spreadsheet over to the MAC. What is a good spreadsheet for MAC (Office for Mac, or something else) that can handle importing a SS created on the PC. I know I can run Parallels but would like to know what a good SS is on the MAC. Any info would be useful. Thanks in advance. 7 Comments

Since you are not a beginner, I would suggest jumping right into some more advanced things, assuming you are already comfortable with command line. (Can't see that you wouldn't be after 25 yrs in IT.) One link you can't live without AFAIAC is macosxhints.com. Definitely download Quicksilver and start setting up some helpful triggers and such. Coming over from Windoze, it can feel a bit overwhelming while you get used to the speed that you can do so much, especially with QS. Thanks for the info - I'll be checking all those out on my Mac (not MAC) :D » POSTED IN:
