Multiple Users/Fast User Switching and productivity

Forgive me if this is covered elsewhere, but do any of you use multiple users (Fast User Switching) to manage multiple desktops at once? For example, one "user" for work-oriented stuff, and one for casual browsing, etc.?

I know that some people that run Linux/OSX/Windows on their boxes do this for the very same purpose. Each account basically runs different OSes.
