ADC: Analog to Digital Converter economically?
Russell | Nov 4 2006
Are there any solutions to converting handwriten notes in journals to text on the mac? I'm wanting to take my notes and convert them to a digital version that I can further manipulate to my needs. I just see it useful to have an analog archive and be able to convert that to digital pretty easily. I could type all my notes, but that becomes daunting after a while. I'm just wondering if there are solutions to scanning handwritten notes and having software take over to convert it to text. Or if someone does something like this and what success they are having. Thanks. 4 Comments

I'm not sure if this...Submitted by Berko on November 14, 2006 - 9:11am.
I'm not sure if this is what the second post was getting at, but you could scan them into your software (not sure if EverNote does this) and then essentially tag them so you can know what is in the image of your handwritten notes without transcribing the whole thing. DEVONthink Pro excels here. IIRC, Emory does or has contemplated doing something like this to back up / archive his hPDA. Some simple tags and you're ready to go. Then, as you use it more and more, DTP makes associations between your data based on your tags and previous associations. » POSTED IN:
