cut and paste between two macs?
duus | Sep 30 2006
Hello. I use two computers at work...my laptop and a desktop. I like to use both b/c it gives me more screen space and processor power. The only thing that is annoying is "cut" on one machine and "paste" on the other. Right now I keep an iChat Bonjour going with myself to do this, which kind of works, but it involves several steps: 1) cut on computer 1 I would like to reduce those steps. I can imagine that I can make an applescript that works with QuickSilver to automate steps 1-3. Now I can make a qs applescript to automate steps 4-6 then I'll be golden! Anyone interested in helping figure out how to do this? 6 Comments

I was thinking the exact thing but I have little knowledge on how to implement them. I couldn't think of any other method other than chaining Quicksilver commands together somehow. Synergy is the home run of course because not only can you sync the clipboard but you can put your laptop up next to your other monitor and still use it. Just for you, solidsnot, I think you'd have great luck using Quicksilver with Growl and growlnotify for sending things from one machine to another, in case you didn't have a good starting point ;) » POSTED IN:
