Changing from SOHO Notes: Replacement?
meleuwal | Sep 26 2006
I've used Stickybrain, and now SOHO Notes, for years, but SOHO has reached the new-annoying-bug-every-release stage for me, and so I'm desiring to find a replacement. I'm trying one or two programs now (Yojimbo, Mori), but what I will miss most about SOHO is the copy-from-any-app hot key, which doesn't seem to exist anywhere else. I'm okay with the drag-and-drop that Yojimbo uses, except for the lack of the tag line that SOHO Notes used to add. For example, if you copied something off of a web page, the bottom of the new entry contained the URL. I don't always want to copy/save a whole web page, but I often want to know where something came from. Is SOHO Notes that only program that does that automatically? I'd jump ship pretty quickly if there's another app that automatically adds the URL to a copied entry. 2 Comments

Actually, if Yoijmbo is kept open in the background, pressing F8 in any app, unless it's bound elsewhere, will let you copy from any app. Not the same thing, though. In SOHO Notes, pressing cmd-opt-C will copy the current selection to a new note in the Unfiled folder, and include a couple lines like this: [INDENT]From: xyzzy.com - "Red: Is it the New Black?" Other key combinations will copy to other folders. Now, I can give up the hot-key any-app-copying (if I must), but I really like having those two lines automatically added. » POSTED IN:
