What I love about Quicksilver

Let me count the ways: 1. The Shelf. 'nuff said. oh, and 9. Launching programs. I'm sure there are many others but these are the main reasons I could not imagine having a Mac without Quicksilver. 13 Comments

Mmm...I'd say I agree, just because I love quicksilver, but I have to admit that I don't make any use of your number 1 feature at all - the shelf. I'm not even sure I know what it is beyond something I can make appear on my screen. What are some practical examples of how you use the shelf? I use the shelf for keeping stuff on. ;) No, I use it like the clipboard but it's easier to just hide it off screen and drag things over to it. I like it for moving files around, keeping websites that I plan on emailing later, snippets of text, error messages that I need to send off to a developer, java snips that I want to put on my (as yet to be really implemented) blog. I'm sure with the capabilites of the clipboard in Quicksilver most of that could be done in a different way, but as they say, TMTOWTSAC (there's more than one way...). I think I use it because I explored it first rather than the clipboard so I'm more comfortable using it. Are there any uses of Quicksilver that I missed that you use? » POSTED IN:
