I like Mail.app quite a bit (I've tried every other mail program I could find as an alternative), so it's nice that there's some other folks who appreciate it too. Well, while I would rather use something else, I'm married to iCal and AddressBook with my Sony Ericsson P910 -- so I usually use Mail.app and pine.
