Application that creates shortcuts to folders
academicgirl | Oct 25 2006
I'm looking for an app (or a built-in Windows XP shortcut) that allows me to quickly save to or open favorite folders within different applications. I've seen several apps that let you quickly open favorite folders (e.g. Filing Cabinet) but I'm not sure whether these also give you shortcuts to SAVE to a particular folder. If you know of anything, please post it. I'm spending a lot of time navigating with my mouse! Thanks! 8 Comments

I really don't want to be an operating system troll, but I'd like to point out that the file open/save dialog boxes in Gnome (the standard desktop on Linux and other Unix-like operating systems) do exactly what you want. A screenshot will say more than my description probably can. Basically the left pane of the open dialog box has standard locations (your home directory, your desktop, removable media) and your favourite (bookmarked) folders in it. The save dialog offers you intially only those folders (standard and bookmarked) to save in, but expands to the full browser on request. » POSTED IN:
