Inexpensive Fountain Pens
pooks | Feb 13 2006
I'm interested in cheap fountain pens because the last time I had a really nice one, I lost it. I currently have a new Lamy Safari extra fine nib and I love it. The only thing I'd change would be to have a slimmer pen -- this one is a little fat for where I keep it in my planner/purse. Any suggestions for slimmer fountain pen that isn't expensive? Or for that matter, any fountain pens that aren't expensive? I'm on the waiting list for the Speeno now, but would like to know what the other options are out there. 31 Comments

I'm really enjoying my Lamy...Submitted by pooks on March 3, 2006 - 1:04pm.
I'm really enjoying my Lamy Safari fountain pen. On the other hand, I also bought a Sensa Pen which was on sale at Daly's: http://www.dalyspenshop.com/store2005/product.asp It's very pretty, but I HATE the way it writes. Drag, drag, drag. The ink doesn't flow well, which makes the drag worse. I let a friend try it and she thinks there's actually something wrong with it, something that inhibits the flow of the ink. I've only had it for 24 hours, but have been writing page after page (copying from a book) just to see if it gets better and it hasn't. I'm hoping they'll take it back, which is a shame because it is so pretty and such a good price.... Anybody had any experience with SensaPens? » POSTED IN:
