Index Card Storage?
mdl | Jul 27 2006
Has anyone found a good, relatively cheap index card file? I use the little plastic boxes but would ideally like to get something with more ample room for my growing index card reference collection. I've hung around on ebay for ages, looking for old library card catalogues. But these get pretty expensive, and many of them are for pick-up only. They can also be pretty dingy. I would love a simple, new index card file (especially one made of wood). The ideal would be a single drawer unit with the possibility of buying additional units. Any ideas? Maybe I'm not looking in the right places... 13 Comments

Snap-N-Store are greatSubmitted by slothbear on February 22, 2008 - 12:06pm.
The Snap-N-Store Collapsible 3" x 5" index box is great. Each holds about 1,000 cards. They're not wood -- and not fancy -- but they are very durable, look ok, and are inexpensive. They also stack well. One tip: Staples in my area does not keep these in the index card department. I think they're in the file folder area. They're cheap enough that you can buy one to try before committing to more. » POSTED IN:
