Index Card Storage?
mdl | Jul 27 2006
Has anyone found a good, relatively cheap index card file? I use the little plastic boxes but would ideally like to get something with more ample room for my growing index card reference collection. I've hung around on ebay for ages, looking for old library card catalogues. But these get pretty expensive, and many of them are for pick-up only. They can also be pretty dingy. I would love a simple, new index card file (especially one made of wood). The ideal would be a single drawer unit with the possibility of buying additional units. Any ideas? Maybe I'm not looking in the right places... 13 Comments

I'm a little slow getting back to this thread, but here is the product I was thinking about. Found it at Staples. I have a large one for files. I put several big pocket files in it and stash receipts in it. I still stumble across business receipts (usually small) from earlier years, and it was always a pain, but once I stored my old tax records and receipts in this big bog, it's easy to just toss a new one in. If we ever (God forbid) get audited, I'll have more stuff to count off than I actually filed on.) Those are great. » POSTED IN:
