Prodnography: $10 Alternatives to Levenger Pocket Briefcase and/or Rope Case

There was no way in hell I could afford a $34 case for my index cards. So, I was so stoked today when I was at Target and found a bright green index card holder that looks almost exactly like a Pocket Briefcase. It was only $10. So, I did what any self-respecting geek would do. I took the thing out of its case and moved my index cards in to see how they would fit. It came with 20 cards that were printed with flowers on one side. But, after getting home, I have found it can hold up to 50 cards plus five dividers. It has one main compartment, a front and back pocket, and a front capture area. Sorry, but I don't have the brand name because I threw the package out and its not branded on (to my joy).

Then, on the way home from Target, I stopped to get some G2 refills at Staples. They didn't have the 05 refills, but I also wanted to look for the business card holder that others have posted about on here. I ended up getting the single column version since it was only $3 or so and I don't need the bigger version taking up desk space. Then I saw another Pocket Briefcase-esque product. It is made by a company called Buxton. (They had some other cool stuff from the same company there, too.) I got it to hold 30 cards. It was a tight fit, but not unusably so. It has two compartments and a capture area. It is also $10.

And what would such a report be without pictures? I didn't have my good camera with me, so the Buxton is taken with my T637. I took the others when I got home and completely moved in.

Well, I'll be a monkey's...

Well, I'll be a monkey's uncle!!

I just received my Pocket Briefcase from Levengers. BTW, if they didn't place it in such a crazy box and specially wrapped up with a cloth wrap, perhaps they could drop the price a bit? :) The leather on the Ballistic makes me want something in leather from Levengers, it's excellent. The P.B. works exactly as I hoped it would, and I've already used it extensively this week. It's already making a difference in my effiency. Very very happy I went for it. Love the Ballistic... now if only they made the three-pocket version in all leather.

I have to admit, I'm a bit frustrated I paid about 3x as much as the Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants version... but, well, I can live with it I think. ;) Levenger is making me drool these days way too much for my own good. That's a bad sign. :D I hope to have some sort of review of a few items on my blog sometime soon (I'll post, so don't feel the need to check if you don't want to!). I'm thinking I'm going to have to put flickr photos inline with the blog. We'll see what I can do. :) Still learning!

Cheers!
