Dressing for carrying stuff around?
Borganizer | Feb 13 2006
After reading this post by duien, I decided to get a filofax (a brand of organizers), since I want an ultra-portable system I can use whereever I am, and it (together with a pen) seems to do the trick. But I have no space left in my pockets and don't want to keep it in a separate bag, as I want instant access, all the time. So some wardrobe additions seem like a necessity. Right now, it consists of a bunch of jeans and ordinary shirts. I've considered cargo pants, but I think it's easier to whip it out quickly if it's located somewhere waist and above. What would you suggest? Is a dress shirt good enough? I read somewhere that putting notebooks in your shirt pocket wasn't that good, though I never understood why. Perhaps they fall out easily when you bend forward, or something. I also think a shirt pocket is a bit on the small side. My friends say I should use this opportunity to get better dressed, and buy a jacket too. A jacket pocket would probably be enough to fit a filofax in, but what about the summer, when it's hot? I doubt I could walk around in even a T-shirt and a jacket then. I see a market for filofax holsters emerging... 7 Comments

I use a slimline filofax...Submitted by andyc on March 12, 2006 - 6:00am.
I use a slimline filofax as a collection device and that fits neatly into a jacket pocket - the inside one of the leather jacket I normally wear, for a smarter blazer/sports coat. When I'm travelling, I wear a safari jacket - kind of like a photographers vest with sleeves - which is great for all the bits that would otherwise take up most of my hand luggage allowance.
