Best method for task reminders?
JWakefield | Jan 3 2007
I have been using GTD for about a year now and I LOVE it. I have a fairly simple question, but it is plaguing me. I have found a GREAT system for setting and getting reminders on my longer terms goals (that is Life's Roadmap ), but I am struggling with the smaller tasks that I have. I have tried the task manger in Outlook and I HATE it. Everything just turns into noise and I cant categorize things easily. With Life's Roadmap, you put things into Cornerstones. and time frames, which I love, but it really is not designed for tasks. The other thing I like about LR is that it sends you e-mail remainders. That is what I really want. I don't ignore my e-mails, but I will ignore note cards or that freaking reminders window in Outlook - I am in love with the Dismiss All button. So the question is, is there a good program or system that people have for being reminded of the day to day things? TIA 5 Comments

If the types of tasks...Submitted by Antemeridian on January 3, 2007 - 12:42pm.
If the types of tasks and reminders you are looking for are date based, there is always Google Calendar. It'll send you a daily agenda, an email as a reminder, or what I sometimes find useful is the SMS reminders over cell phone. While I don't use Google Calendar for everything, there are certain tasks I've thrown in there as I like getting the text message reminding me that I've got a meeting or something that needs to be done. As far as the other online task managers, I haven't really tried any of them, but I do know that there are lots out there. Hope that helps! » POSTED IN:
