tagging shortcuts / utilities

Productive citizens, I just started a new wave of school and with it a system of tagging-based organization on my mac. Goodbye folders!! Currently I can tag a file with a predetermined term using hotkeys in Quicksilver (ctrl-opt-cmd-s tags it "school") but what I want is to quickly enter a tag myself. It takes 5 keystrokes in quicksilver (cmd-esc to grab a selected file, tab, t for "add tag...", tab, and THEN the tag itself). Any ways of doing this with Quicksilver or any utilities developed for the purpose? If Apple is serious about metadata I should think that tag creation would be easier. Cheers 3 Comments

Create a trigger in Quicksilver....Submitted by Berko on September 10, 2007 - 9:18pm.
Create a trigger in Quicksilver. In the first pane type "Finder Selection" then tab to the second pane and type "Add Tags." Now, DON'T tab to the third pane. Just click on save. Now, assign a hotkey. Now, when you invoke the trigger, it will pop you into the third pane to enter your tags. HTH » POSTED IN:
