Lowering Upload/Download
jcisco | Mar 9 2007
In New Zealand, they do broadband a bit differently than back home in the states. With our plan, they really focus on your upload/download usage. I am limited to 5GB upload/download a month. Originally, I didn't think this would be a problem -- I was wrong. I'm amazing at the amount of data that is passed through when I surf. Anyone have any tips to keep this low? Other than surfing less of course.. Skype definitely has something to do with it... What about RSS readers? -- is that doing some damage? Thanks, Jonathan Cisco 5 Comments

I just thought of something else. Disable any synching you might have on. For instance, if you have a .Mac account and sync your bookmarks, calendars, and god-knows-what-else that will use up a lot of bandwidth. Likewise for Foxmarks extension on Firefox. » POSTED IN:
